Twisted Metal, the high-octane post-apocalyptic action comedy based on the popular PlayStation video game series, is gearing up for its much-anticipated return. Created by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Michael Jonathan Smith, the show brings chaotic vehicular combat and dark humor to life. The second season is scheduled to premiere on July 31, 2025, on Peacock.
Starring Anthony Mackie as the talkative and mysterious milkman John Doe, the series also features Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, Will Arnett, and Thomas Haden Church. Season 2 adds Anthony Carrigan as Calypso, along with Richard de Klerk, Patty Guggenheim, Tiana Okoye, Saylor Bell Curda, Michael James Shaw, and Lisa Gilroy in recurring roles.
After the gritty streets of New Orleans served as the backdrop for Season 1, production for Twisted Metal Season 2 shifted north to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Filming began on July 17, 2024, and though originally expected to run until November 19, production wrapped early on October 30, 2024.
TWISTED METAL SEASON 2 FILMING LOCATIONS IN ONTARIO
The second season makes the most of Ontario’s many different settings by turning ordinary places into the lawless, decaying world of Twisted Metal. Here is a list of the confirmed places to film:
Cambridge City Hall – New San Francisco
One of the most prominent locations used in Season 2 is Cambridge City Hall, which was cleverly redesigned as the City Hall for “New San Francisco.” The building’s modern architecture fit the tone of the post-apocalyptic settlement and created a central hub for important scenes, likely involving John’s interactions with Raven and the city’s leadership.
Hamilton – Bakery Near Delta Secondary School
In early September, a small bakery across from the now-closed Delta Secondary School in Hamilton was used for filming scenes. Details of the scene are still being kept secret, but the location suggests that there will be more grounded, personal moments amidst the chaos, which could have something to do with new characters or flashbacks.
Black Bridge Road – Stunt Driving Sequences

On July 19, 2024, Black Bridge Road, stretching from Townline Road to Baldwin Drive, was temporarily shut down for stunt driving sequences. Professional stunt drivers did high-speed scenes in this area, which added to the show’s already high-energy feel. Realistic driving stunts are a big part of the series and they make the car battles feel more real.
Dickson Street, Cambridge – Action Setups
Dickson Street in front of Cambridge City Hall was another important filming location. It was closed temporarily for more filming. These scenes were part of the bigger picture of—New San Francisco. They might have shown fights between groups or a major confrontation between John and Quiet.
Filming in Ontario was easier on the crew and actors than Season 1 filming in New Orleans, where it was very hot and the weather was always changing. With easier production and a quick wrap—it’s clear that the show’s crew made the most of Canada’s tax breaks and policies that help movies.
