The Order Filming Locations (2024) – Based on a True Story

-

The action-thriller movie The Order based on a true story, which comes out in 2024, was written and directed by Zach Baylin. The film is inspired by the events described in the 1989 non-fiction book The Silent Brotherhood by Kevin Flynn and Gary Gerhardt. The movie tells the scary story of a domestic terrorist group that operated in the US in the 1980s. It stars Jude Law, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Jurnee Smollett, Alison Oliver, and Marc Maron, among others.

The film’s gripping story is set in stunning Alberta, Canada, locations carefully chosen to capture its tension and authenticity. Every scene, from busy city streets to remote wilderness areas, captures the action and suspense that are at the heart of the movie.

The Order Plot Summary

In 1983, Bruce Pierce and Gary Yarbrough kill Walter West after luring him into the woods. This is the start of The Order. Terry Husk, an FBI agent who wants a less stressful job, reopens a field office in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. But soon, he is drawn into looking into “The Order,” a white supremacist terrorist group.

As Husk and Deputy Jamie Bowen look into crimes like bank robberies, bombings and murders that The Order has been involved in—the plot gets more complicated. As Husk searches for justice—he has to deal with problems at home and at work, such as strained family relationships and the deadly determination of the group he’s after. In the final raid on Whidbey Island, Washington, there is a fiery fight with Bob Mathews, the group’s leader, which leads to a very scary ending.

At the very end, the movie shows a sad reminder of the real events that inspired it. This shows how important the group was in history and how important its story is still today.

Where wad The Order filmed?

The Order began filming in May 2023, mostly in Alberta, Canada. This area was a great place for the movie’s action-packed and intense plot because it was visually stunning and flexible. Here is a full list of all the places where the movies were shot:

1. Calgary, Alberta, Canada:

Many of the most important scenes from the movies were filmed in and around Calgary.

Ambassador Inn Motel (802 16 Ave NE): Inn Motel is a key location in the movie that is used to show dramatic confrontations.
The Palace Theatre (219 8 Ave SW): An exciting explosion scene was filmed here, turning this famous building into a scary place.
North Hill Centre (14 Avenue NW): Jude Law was seen running through the mall’s parking lot with his gun drawn during a tense scene.
Plus 15 Network: The movie also used Calgary’s elevated pedestrian bridges to make an exciting chase scene in the city.

2. The Canadian town of Didsbury

The small town of Didsbury was changed to look like the countryside in Idaho. The town’s cute streets and traditional buildings gave scenes about FBI investigations and The Order’s secret activities a more real feel.

3. Drumheller, Alberta, Canada

Drumheller, which is known for its dramatic landscapes was a great place for a number of important scenes.

Waldorf Hotel: This historic site was used to show how tense things were inside The Order’s operations. The rough terrain around Drumheller also helped make the rough wilderness where FBI agent Terry Husk hunts for his enemies look like it did in the movie.

4. Bragg Creek, Canada, in Alberta

The peaceful but ominous wilderness around Bragg Creek was perfect for outdoor scenes, like the scary one where Mathews confronts Husk while hunting elk. The quiet settings and dense forests gave the movie an eerie feel that made the tension higher.

5. Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada;

Kananaskis’s dramatic mountain ranges and highways made for beautiful backgrounds for exciting chase scenes and important moments. The action scenes that were filmed here show how; different the beauty of nature is from The Order’s actions.

In the 1980s, Alberta was a great choice to represent the United States because it has a wide range of landscapes from cities and small towns to rough wilderness. The people who worked on the movie said that the area was very flexible and had a great mix of modern infrastructure and untouched natural beauty.
