Joe Marcantonio, known for his atmospheric storytelling, returns with a powerful new feature titled UNCLE. The film is set to begin shooting on September 1, 2025, in London, England, with a gripping and emotional story that combines family tragedy with unflinching vengeance.
Millie is a young teenage girl whose life is turned upside down when her family is brutally killed. UNCLE tells her story. To find the people who did this, she teams up with her Uncle John played by Sope Dìrísù (known for Gangs of London and His House). They are both very sad and angry.
As the duo moves closer to uncovering the truth and delivering retribution, Millie faces a life-altering choice. Is she truly prepared to take on the burden of vengeance—and with it, the loss of her innocence? This coming-of-age story is told through a lens of trauma, determination, and loyalty. At its heart, UNCLE explores what happens when a child is pulled too early into an adult world governed by violence.
Joining Dìrísù in the cast are acclaimed actors Eddie Marsan (Ray Donovan, Happy-Go-Lucky) and Morfydd Clark, best known for her performance as Galadriel in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. With this strong ensemble, the film is expected to deliver emotionally intense performances and grounded realism. Micheal Ward, known for his powerful performances, will also appear in the film. He adds star power to the project and is currently gaining buzz for his upcoming role in Ari Aster’s EDDINGTON.
Joe Marcantonio is directing the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Owynne Dawkins. The creative team behind the production includes Rebecca Knapp and Matthew Wakeham of Auroral Pictures, along with Adam Partridge.
Eddie Marsan is one of Britain’s most respected character actors. Known for his versatility, he has delivered standout performances in films like Happy-Go-Lucky, Sherlock Holmes, and the TV series Ray Donovan. Whether playing a villain or a vulnerable man, Marsan brings intensity and realism to every role.
Morfydd Clark is a rising star with a growing reputation for powerful performances. She gained international fame as Galadriel in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Before that, she was praised for her haunting lead role in Saint Maud.
Sope Dìrísù is a talented British-Nigerian actor best known for his intense roles in Gangs of London and the horror-drama His House, which earned him a BAFTA Rising Star nomination.
He made his film debut in 2016 with roles in Sand Castle, Criminal, and The Huntsman: Winter’s War. He also appeared in Black Mirror (“Nosedive”) that year.In 2022, he took the lead in Mr. Malcolm’s List and continues to land significant roles, including in the upcoming My Father’s Shadow and of course, UNCLE.
