-

Prime Video’s upcoming romantic drama Every Year After has officially kicked off production in Vancouver, with scenes recently spotted being filmed at USSC Marina in Snug Cove on July 15. The series is based on Every Summer After, the best-selling debut novel by Canadian author Carley Fortune.

The story is set in the charming lakeside town of Barry’s Bay and follows a nostalgic and emotional journey through six years and one unforgettable week. It’s a story of first loves, lifelong connections, and how the choices we make can shape us forever.

The lead roles are played by Sadie Soverall (Saltburn) as Percy and Matt Cornett (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) as Sam. They are joined by Aurora Perrineau (Kaos) as Chantal, Abigail Cowen (Fate: The Winx Saga) as Delilah, Michael Bradway (Chicago Fire) as Charlie, and Joseph Chiu (Fear Street: Prom Queen) as Jordie.

The working title for the series during production is Meet Cute.

The show is being developed by an experienced team behind the scenes, including Amy B. Harris (showrunner), Carley Fortune herself, and producers such as Lindsey Liberatore, Amy Rardin, John Stephens, and Grace Gilroy. Also contributing as writers and consulting producers are Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky, known for their work on Sex and the City and And Just Like That.

Though the official premiere date hasn’t been announced yet, Every Year After is set to stream globally on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.

The first book, Every Summer After, became a huge hit on BookTok and has since sold more than a million copies around the world. Its TikTok hashtag has been seen more than 81 million times. Carley Fortune, an author, talked about how excited she was about the series and praised the cast for giving the beloved characters more depth and emotion.

As filming continues throughout the summer in Vancouver, fans of the novel can expect to see the serene Canadian landscapes echo the heartfelt tone of the story.
