Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming horror series Carrie is officially in production, with filming underway in and around Vancouver, British Columbia. Based on Stephen King’s first novel, this new eight-episode series is a fresh take on the story of telekinetic teen Carrie White.
Production began on June 16, 2025, and is expected to continue through October 17. Director Mike Flanagan, known for Midnight Mass and The Fall of the House of Usher, returned to Vancouver — his go-to location for previous horror hits — to bring the fictional town of Chamberlain, Maine, to life. This time, Cloverdale, BC, has been transformed to double as the quiet but eerie New England setting.

The series stars Summer H. Howell as Carrie, alongside Samantha Sloyan as her overbearing mother. The story follows Carrie’s difficult journey through high school, where she’s bullied and isolated — until she discovers her terrifying telekinetic powers.
Filming locations have included urban areas of Downtown Vancouver, which were glimpsed on Instagram by cast members like Michael Trucco and Katee Sackhoff, who were spotted at a Vancouver Whitecaps game. The cast also includes Matthew Lillard, Siena Agudong, Amber Midthunder, and Josie Totah, with guest stars like Heather Graham and Rahul Kohli.
Mike Flanagan first began prep on the series in mid-February 2025. He’s no stranger to Stephen King’s work, having previously adapted Doctor Sleep, Gerald’s Game, and The Life of Chuck.
With Vancouver serving once again as the backdrop for Flanagan’s vision, the series promises a gripping and atmospheric retelling of King’s haunting classic.
Carrie is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in 2026.
