If I Go Missing (2025) Filming Locations

-

If I Go Missing (2025) is a suspenseful psychological thriller from Tubi—directed by Stefan Brogren and written by Andrea Shawcross.

The movie is about Sloane—a true crime fanatic who goes even further with her interest by getting ready for the possibility that she will disappear. Armed with a DIY “in case I vanish” kit—complete with DNA samples, fingerprints, and photos—Sloane urges others on social media to do the same. However, her interest in crime becomes terrifyingly real when her best friend Camilla suddenly vanishes without a trace. Despite being dismissed as paranoid, Sloane suspects their mysterious new neighbor Elliot. Fueled by fear and determination, she launches her own investigation, leading the story into an intense exploration of intuition, trust, and danger.

If I Go Missing has a great cast, including Emma Elle Paterson as Sloane, Hannah Vandenbygaart as Camilla, Robert Bazzocchi, and Damon Mclean. It combines young people’s natural curiosity with a thrilling mystery. The movie isn’t based on a true story, but it was inspired by how people are interested in and afraid of true crimes in real life.

WHEN AND WHERE WAS IF I GO MISSING FILMED?

Principal photography for If I Go Missing took place entirely in Ontario, Canada, with a strong emphasis on the city of Hamilton. The shoot commenced in the final week of February 2024 and wrapped by the end of March 2024. The production was handled by Neshama Entertainment, a Canadian production company known for its work on various Lifetime and Hallmark films.

HAMILTON, ONTARIO

The main filming location was Hamilton, which is on the western end of Lake Ontario. The city’s unique mix of natural beauty and urban grit made it a good choice for a movie that goes from a quiet suburban setting to a creepy mystery. The downtown streets, lush trails, and spooky neighborhoods of Hamilton all added to Sloane’s creepy journey.

Hamilton, which is sometimes called “Hollywood North,” has become a popular place for filmmakers to shoot. Lifetime’s style of storytelling works well in this area because it is cheap, has good tax breaks, and can be used to represent many American cities.

Interior scenes—like those that take place in Sloane’s house or other houses in the neighborhood, were probably filmed in real homes in Hamilton’s suburban areas. Some scenes may have also been shot in local movie studios, since Hamilton’s infrastructure is getting better and better to support both on-location and studio shoots.

LOCAL VIBE AND BEHIND-THE-SCENES MOMENTS

Director Stefan Brogren praised the filming experience in Hamilton and shared appreciation for the cast and crew on social media, calling the project “a gift.” His pet Chihuahua, Shorty, reportedly became a beloved presence on set, adding lightness to an otherwise tense and emotionally heavy shoot.

Hamilton’s scenic beauty and friendly community made it easy for the production to go smoothly. Famous views of the city—like those from the escarpment trails and nearby waterfalls, are known to draw both tourists and filmmakers. The movie stays true to its suburban suspense theme but glimpses of Hamilton’s unique environment give the pictures more depth and realism.
