Simon West is back with another exciting adventure called BRIDE HARD (2025). He directed action hits like The Expendables 2, Con Air, and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. WHAT IS BRIDE HARD ABOUT?
BRIDE HARD follows a group of elite mercenaries who take over a luxury wedding, believing it to be an easy target. What they don’t know is that Rebel Wilson, who plays the Maid of Honor, isn’t your typical bridesmaid. That woman is a trained spy, and she won’t let anyone ruin her best friend’s big day. In order to save the bride and all the guests, she then has to fight with her brains, her weapons, and wedding cake.
The movie is both stylish and exciting because it combines the glitz of a destination wedding with the chaos of espionage. Let’s talk about where the whole thing was filmed.
WHERE WAS “BRIDE HARD” FILMED?
The primary filming for Bride Hard took place in the United States and France, with most scenes shot in Savannah, Georgia, and additional scenes filmed in Paris to give the story an international flavor.
SAVANNAH, GEORGIA – THE MAIN FILMING HUB
They started filming in July 2023 and finished in August 2023. Most of the work was done in Savannah, which is known for its Southern charm, historic architecture, and beautiful scenery.
Savannah has long been a favorite for filmmakers. It has also served as a location for films like The Menu, May December, and Forrest Gump. The city’s oak-lined streets and colonial buildings provided the perfect backdrop for the wedding setting of Bride Hard.
THE FORD FIELD & RIVER CLUB
The wedding scenes—the central focus of the film—were filmed at The Ford Field & River Club, a private 1,800-acre estate just outside Savannah. This exclusive club is known for its beautiful views of the water, lush green landscaping, and elegant architecture. It is located along the Ogeechee River.
The place is often used for real weddings and other important events, so it was perfect for the movie’s fancy ceremony. The beautiful estate is very different from the chaos that happens in the story during the hostage situation.
PARIS, FRANCE – A TOUCH OF INTERNATIONAL GLAMOUR
While most of the filming occurred in Georgia, several scenes were also shot in Paris, France. A famous scene was filmed near the Sacré-Coeur, the white basilica that stands on top of Montmartre hill. Even though only a few scenes were shot in Paris, they give the movie a global spy element and probably show some of the Maid of Honor’s secret agent past or mission.
Paris was a great place for mysterious spy scenes, quick escapes and secret meetings.
ON-SET ACCIDENT AND SAG-AFTRA STRIKE IMPACT
During the SAG-AFTRA strike in 2023, filming for Bride Hard kept going because of an Interim Agreement that let independent projects keep going. This helped a lot of actors and crew members keep their jobs.
One of the film’s stars, Rebel Wilson, who portrays the fierce Maid of Honor—experienced a stunt mishap. During a night shoot in Savannah—she was accidentally struck in the face with a prop gun, which required three stitches. Wilson later shared a post about the incident on Instagram, showing fans her stitched-up face and joking, “Not the way I wanted to end this movie!”
