The much-loved time-traveling family drama THE WAY HOME is getting ready for its much-anticipated fourth season. Filming will begin in Ontario, Canada, on August 11, 2025—and go through November 26, 2025.
The Crown Media-produced show has a strong fan base thanks to its emotional stories, focus on different generations—and deep historical layers. Following its recent Audience Choice Award win at the Canadian Screen Awards, The Way Home continues to gain recognition both for its heartfelt writing and immersive world-building.
PRODUCTION RETURNS TO LANDRY FARM IN ONTARIO
The primary filming location for Season 4 is The Landry Farm, situated in Ontario. This beautiful and important place has been a visual anchor for the whole run of the show. It’s the setting for the made-up town of Port Haven, where the Landry family has lived, loved—and revealed secrets for many generations.
Ontario’s wide range of landscapes and friendly production environment made it a great place for the show to be filmed.
WHAT IS THE WAY HOME ABOUT?
The series centers on the complicated, emotional, and often mysterious lives of three generations of Landry women—Kat Landry (played by Chyler Leigh), her mother Del (Andie MacDowell), and her teenage daughter Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow). The story starts when Kat comes back to Port Haven with Alice after being away from Del for decades. It’s not easy to see them again, but when Alice finds a magical pond that lets her go back in time, everything changes.
Over the course of its seasons, the show has taken viewers from the 1800s to the 1970s and even the 1990s, revealing family history, heartbreak, and secrets. Understand the past to change the future—it’s not just about the past.
WHERE SEASON 3 LEFT OFF
Season 3 ended with big revelations and new mysteries. The biggest surprise? A baby left at the pond turns out to be Elliot (played by Evan Williams) as an infant. His mysterious origin and the identity of his mother—another time traveler—will be central themes in the upcoming season.
We also saw Jacob Landry (played by Spencer Macpherson) go missing once again, raising questions about his safety after being threatened by Lewis Goodwin (Philip Riccio). Meanwhile, Del’s boyfriend Sam (Rob Stewart) was revealed to have his own past with the time-traveling pond—something Del might not take lightly once she finds out.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN SEASON 4
Season 4 will dig deeper into Elliot’s origins, his connection to the Landrys, and the continuing impact of the pond. Kat and Elliot are expected to explore the history and rules of the pond together. Del will be focused on finding Jacob again, while secrets involving Sam, KC Goodwin (Vaughan Murrae), and others could shift the family’s entire understanding of their legacy.
Behind the scenes, the new season is helmed by returning executive producers Heather Conkie, Alexandra Clarke, and Marly Reed.
