Netflix’s THE ULTIMATUM: QUEER LOVE returns with Season 2, bringing another intense round of relationship challenges — but this time in an all-new location. The reality dating series is a spin-off of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On and focuses exclusively on queer couples, featuring women and non-binary individuals. Hosted once again by JoAnna Garcia Swisher, the show follows six new couples as they confront life-changing decisions about love, commitment, and the future of their relationships.
In the unique setup of the series, each couple enters the experiment because one partner has issued an ultimatum: get married or move on. The couples are temporarily split up and introduced to other singles in the group. From there, they each choose a new partner for a three-week “trial marriage.” After this first phase, the original couples are reunited for another three-week trial, after which each person must decide whether to stay with their original partner, move on with their trial partner, or leave alone.

Unlike the first season, which was primarily filmed in San Diego, California, The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 was reportedly shot across various parts of Florida, focusing heavily on the Miami metropolitan area. Principal photography took place in the summer of 2022 and wrapped up by early July.
MIAMI, FLORIDA – THE HEART OF SEASON 2
Most of the second season was filmed in Miami, the bustling coastal city known for its nightlife, art deco architecture, and beaches. A major production hub for this season was the Grove Central Residences, located at 2800 Southwest 27th Terrace. This high-rise apartment complex in Coconut Grove offers luxurious accommodations with modern interiors and panoramic views of the Miami cityscape and Biscayne Bay. These elegant living spaces served as the temporary homes for the couples during their trial marriages.
The building’s spacious design and scenic balconies provided a stylish backdrop for many intense conversations, emotional revelations, and late-night bonding sessions. It also gave cast members access to nearby entertainment venues and scenic hotspots that enriched their dating experience.
OTHER MIAMI LOCATIONS THAT MAY APPEAR
The vibrant city of Miami itself offered multiple filming opportunities, from cultural landmarks to romantic getaway spots. Locations such as the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, the Bayside Marketplace, and the Wynwood Art District could be spotted throughout the series as backdrops during romantic outings and introspective one-on-one dates. The couples also appeared to enjoy beachside activities such as parasailing, suggesting filming took place along the famous Miami Beach shoreline.
Little Havana and Kaseya Center, both iconic Miami spots, may have also featured during scenes set in urban environments, giving the series an authentic Floridian feel.
FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA
Another notable location reportedly used in the filming of The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 is Fort Lauderdale, a nearby city that lies just north of Miami. While not much has been officially confirmed, various scenes — particularly beach and date sequences — appear to have been shot here as well. Fort Lauderdale is known for its canals, upscale dining, and oceanfront attractions, all of which would serve as ideal locations for romantic date scenes or introspective moments between cast members.
WHEN WAS SEASON 2 FILMED?
Filming for Season 2 took place over the summer months of 2022, wrapping up by the first week of July. This timeline was confirmed by series executive producer Chris Coelen during an interview with Variety. He mentioned that post-production was already underway in 2022, confirming that the entire filming process was completed well in advance of the series release.
