SALMON RIVER ESTUARY AT CASCADE HEAD
The movie was shot a lot in and around the Salmon River estuary, which is close to Cascade Head, a famous coastal headland and ecological reserve. When they were filming at Camp Meriwether, the crew was able to build controlled outdoor sets that looked like the cabins in the woods and the buildings in the small town that were described in the script. It was close to both the ocean and the forest, which made it a great place for many important scenes, such as search parties, fights in the woods, and community panic. “It’s all very secret and maybe a little intriguing… We do know the film is being shot in and around Pacific City but mostly up at Camp Meriwether – a tad closer to Cape Lookout.”
