WHERE WAS GINNY & GEORGIA SEASON 3 FILMED?
Principal photography for GINNY & GEORGIA Season 3 began in April 2024 and wrapped in August 2024. Like its previous seasons, the show was primarily shot in Toronto and the scenic town of Cobourg, both located in Ontario, Canada.
The series does not film in Massachusetts, despite its fictional setting. Instead, it creates the charming atmosphere of Wellsbury through carefully selected Canadian locales. The town of Cobourg, with its small-town charm and picturesque views, doubles for Wellsbury and continues to be the backbone of the series’ visual appeal.
TORONTO, ONTARIO
One of the most recognizable places is a quiet residential area where Georgia and Ginny’s house stands. That real home is found at 46 Baby Point Crescent. Just opposite, 45 Baby Point Crescent is used as the home of Marcus (Felix Mallard) and his mom Ellen (Jennifer Robertson). Their close proximity plays into the show’s teenage friendships and tension.
Many classroom and school scenes were filmed inside Nelson A. Boylen Collegiate Institute, a former high school in the North York area. It’s the stand-in for Wellsbury High and provides that classic high school look we see throughout the series.
According to multiple sources, including IMDb, interior scenes of the show are shot at TriBoro Studios, located within Toronto. Kitchen talks, living room moments, and hallway chats are all created inside this studio with carefully built sets.
Some outdoor scenes were captured in Etienne Brulé Park, particularly near the Old Mill Bridge. This quiet and green spot appears during emotional or reflective moments, offering a soft backdrop to the characters’ struggles.
A grittier side of town appears through EZ Lube Auto Service, a real auto shop in Scarborough. Its appearance adds texture and contrast to the polished homes and cozy cafés.
COBURG, ONTARIO
Just over an hour away from Toronto lies Cobourg, a peaceful lakeside town that once again served as the main double for Wellsbury. Its historic charm and small-town streets give it the ideal look of a New England community.
This season, William Academy on King Street West is one of the best places in Cobourg to be. This building shows different sides of school life and local life in more than one scene.
The El—a real pub that is turned into the—“Blue Farm Café” — on the show, is another interesting place to visit in Cobourg.
Season 3 has a lot of scenes on King Street, which is Cobourg’s main downtown road. There are U.S. flags, mailboxes, and other decorations on the storefronts to make them look like American businesses.
Victoria Park, which is close by, is used to film scenes of town fairs, school events, and community moments. People can gather and celebrate in a warm way because of the open space and bandshell.
Even though Ginny and Georgia are supposed to live in Massachusetts, these places in Canada help shape the world of the book. Set design and location choices that are very smart make the show’s version of Wellsbury seem very real.
WRAPPING UP SEASON 3 — BITTERSWEET GOODBYES
In August 2024, filming for Season 3 came to an end. It had been a long but rewarding process. Antonia Gentry—who plays Ginny, thought about what she had been through in the last few days of filming. . She told Tudum, “It’s always bittersweet to finish up a season… I just want to see what we’ve managed to create this season, and see if people love it.”
Brianne Howey, who portrays Georgia, shared similar sentiments. “It’s so close, but there’s so much exciting stuff to do!” she said. “We’re trying to take a lot of pictures, and I know in my heart that we have an amazing season ahead of us. Everyone’s worked so hard and the scripts are so good, and we’re just so proud.”
